It started with a letter
Flashback to 2016 university year three, studying corsetry when our founder's cousin tried on one of the first gown's she crafted herself.
To one year later 2017- designing and making her first ever Wedding gown from the comfort of her 'home' atelier, her mom as her mentor who she grew up watching & learning from.

The name Amathav draws from “AMMA,” meaning mother, and “Mathavu,” evoking devotion and protection. It reflects a belief that the most meaningful garments are born through care, intuition, and knowledge passed quietly from one generation to the next.

Most bridal houses design for the photograph.
I design for what remains.
Amathav is a Paris based couture house founded to move beyond the industry’s fixation on the fleeting moment. My work approaches bridal not as a conclusion, but as a beginning. A garment’s life does not end at the ceremony. It begins there.
I learned the language of making alongside my mother. Not through instruction, but through hands, repetition, and trust. What I absorbed in those early years was not just technique, but a way of seeing garments as vessels of memory and care. That embodied knowledge continues to guide how I work today.

Shaped by Indian heritage, disciplined by Italian couture, and practiced within the rigor of the Parisian atelier system, I architect garments with intention and precision. Each piece is designed to be worn, lived in, and capable of transformation into a second or third life.

At Amathav, bridal is a living biography.
I do not dress women for a moment.
I curate the emotional artifacts of their lineage.
